Business Idea Generation Programme

This is a free programme for those who either have no clear idea or a broad idea of what business they would like to set up.

The programme focuses on getting participants to generate and develop ideas that may have commercial possibilities and lead to sustainable employment.

The main aims are:

  • To have participants generate ideas that may progress to self-employment
  • To give participants the confidence to progress their ideas
  • To instil positive thinking in participants

The programme is run over three half day sessions commencing 20th May, 2010.  The further two sessions will be delivered 27th May and 3rd June, 2010.

The core content of the programme includes:

  • Suitability for Self Employment
  • What would I like to do?
  • Who will buy my product/service?
  • Can I make money from my product/service?
  • Should I do a Start Your Own Business Programme to take my idea further?

On completion of the programme it is anticipated that each participant will:

  • Have at least one idea that warrants further investigation
  • Know how to assess if their idea/project is feasible as a business
  • Be confident enough to bring idea to next stage of development
  • Have preliminary understanding of who will buy my product/service
  • Have in place their own next step action plan to develop their ideas
